About Me
Landscape, Natural forms, water and light are the subjects which inspire me and on which most of my work is based.
But since coming to live in Newcastle upon Tyne 30 years ago, I was attracted by the cityscapes and made two collagraphs of the steps which go up from the steep street leading down to the Quayside.
I love the excitement of working in many different techniques and sizes. Wood engravings are usually quite small and detailed. Collagraphs, wood or linocuts provide the space for exploring wider views. Then again, hand-made books have the advantage of providing a variety of related images to tell a story.
Most of the works are in small hand printed editions which makes them unique and special. I do not provide Giclee prints
I am a Quaker, which influences the way I live my life and think about the world. This includes care of the environment and sustainability. I am a dedicated allotment holder where I grow organic fruit and vegetables and recharge my energies.
